Jewelry Repair Frequently Asked Questions

Most repairs are finished in 3–5 business days from the day you approve the estimate, not from drop-off.
Simple sizing, a loose stone, or a clasp can often be done while you wait. Restoration is quoted at intake.

Here. The shop is on the other side of the showroom wall at 5017 Cooper Rd in Montgomery. Your jewelry
never leaves this building. You are welcome to walk back and see the bench.

Yes. We repair jewelry from anywhere — another store, an estate sale, a grandmother’s jewelry box. You do
not have to have bought it here, and we will not ask you to.

Yes. Some repairs — sizing, a loose stone, a clasp — can be done while you wait, for an upgrade fee. Call
ahead at (513) 793-7772 and we will tell you honestly whether yours is one of them.

If a repair we performed fails within 90 days, we will make it right at no charge. The guarantee covers our
workmanship. It does not cover new damage, lost stones from wear after the repair, or work another shop
does later.

Most can. Eternity bands, tension settings, tungsten, and titanium are the usual exceptions — tungsten and
titanium typically cannot be sized, and a full-eternity band often has to be remade. Bring it in. We will tell you
before anything is touched.

Done correctly, no. We size from the shank, protect the stones, and refinish the piece so the work
disappears. If a ring is too thin, stone-set all the way around, or already repaired poorly, we will say so on the
estimate rather than force it.

Usually. We match color, cut, and measurements from the remaining stones or from the empty seat. If the
original was a specific diamond, we document it at intake and source a match — lab or natural, your call.

White gold is gold alloyed with white metals, then plated with rhodium. The rhodium wears. The yellow you
see is the gold underneath, not the piece “going bad.” We strip, polish, and re-plate it.

Do not force it. Ice water, elevation, and a little dish soap free most of them. If it is swollen, cut the band —
we would rather rebuild a shank than injure a finger. Walk in. We will get it off, then talk about sizing beads or
a comfort fit so it does not happen again.

Twice a year is the honest cadence — once if you barely wear it, more if it is an everyday engagement ring.
Prongs wear quietly. A free inspection here takes a few minutes and is the cheapest insurance you will ever
buy for a diamond.
